September has been a strong month for the stock market, driven by investor optimism and resilience. Despite a dramatic $280 billion loss in market value for NVIDIA—marking the largest single-day loss in history—the overall market rebounded, with major indices reaching new highs. Chinese markets also had their best week since 2008, fueled by significant policy stimulus. Tame inflation figures and a decline in Treasury yields further supported market momentum, although concerns about stretched valuations remain.
In mid-September, the Federal Reserve cut short-term interest rates by 50 basis points, marking the first reduction in four years, which helped propel stocks to record highs. Meanwhile, the Real Estate sector thrived, particularly with commercial Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), benefiting from lower financing costs. Conversely, the Energy sector faced challenges, declining nearly 14% due to falling oil prices and weak demand.
Explore the full insights and our outlook for what lies ahead.

Schwab Transition Update: Advisors Must Review Accounts as Grace Period Ends
|
As we mark one year since the transition from TD Ameritrade to Charles Schwab, it’s crucial for advisors to emphasize the importance of reviewing client accounts. Schwab now expects all clients to have thoroughly checked their accounts to ensure everything transferred correctly. Any discrepancies noticed after this period will require clients to submit paperwork to rectify the issues, as Schwab will not make exceptions for transition mismatches. Advisors should act promptly to encourage clients to review their accounts before the grace period concludes.

Mastering Practice Management

Optimizing Your CRM for Firm Growth
Start systematizing your business through your Client Relationship Manager (CRM) by first creating written guidelines for key processes within your practice. Assign team members ownership of a process linked to their area of responsibility and ask them to write the tasks needed to complete that process. For example, ask your Client Service Associate to write down everything they do to prepare for a client review. Once you have agreed upon the process, translate it into a workflow using the tools provided in your CRM.
Building out Standard Operating Processes (SOPs) and using your CRM as the operational hub of your business can help ensure that everything gets done and nothing falls through the cracks, ultimately providing the client with a repeatable, consistent, and polished experience. Reach out to your Beacon representative if you are interested in attending a workshop on this topic.
