Beacon’s Dayton Charitable Giving

One of the things I love most about Beacon Capital Management is how we view corporate responsibility. To us, it’s so much more than just managing investment portfolios—it’s about truly making a difference in the communities we call home. This year, we took a heartfelt approach to our giving by inviting some of our team members to lead the way, selecting causes that are deeply personal to them right here in Dayton.

The charities chosen reflect the personal experiences and values of our team. It’s been so inspiring to see how their passion and thoughtfulness have helped us create a meaningful and diverse impact. From empowering kids to caring for animals and preserving our local environment, our $5,000 donation to each charity has touched so many corners of our community.

Empowering Young Lives

Selected by LaTosha (Tosha) Scott, Operations Specialist

Tosha shared her powerful personal story with the Boys & Girls Club, drawing from her own transformative experiences as a club member. Having benefited from their programs in Anderson, South Carolina, she understands firsthand how these organizations provide critical support, confidence-building, and opportunities for young people. Our donation to the Dayton Boys & Girls Club will help give local kids those same opportunities for a brighter future.

Preserving Local Heritage

Selected by Kaitlyn Howell, Manager, Advisor Services

Kaitlyn’s volunteer experience with Five Rivers Metro Parks inspired our donation to support their conservation efforts. By helping maintain historic properties like the Aull House and working to preserve local ecosystems, the parks play a crucial role in maintaining our community’s natural and historical heritage. Our contribution will help improve trail signage and continue their important conservation work.

Compassion for Our Furry Friends

Selected by Rob May, Sr. Operations Specialist

Rob’s love for animals led us to support Miami Valley Pit Crew, a local rescue powered entirely by volunteers. Their dedication to saving dogs—especially those who might be overlooked elsewhere—is incredible. With monthly expenses of $4,000 and a mission to help dogs with significant medical needs, they’re making a huge difference for these animals. I’m so proud we could help them continue their amazing work.

Fighting Food Insecurity

Selected by Tyler Mays, Director, Business Operations

For Tyler, the Dayton Foodbank holds a special place in his heart. This organization is a lifeline for so many in our community, distributing nearly two million pounds of food each year to over 100 local pantries. Programs like the Good-to-Go Backpack initiative, which ensures children have meals over the weekend, make all the difference. Supporting their mission was an easy choice for Tyler—and for all of us.

Supporting At-Risk Youth

Selected by Vince Gaglione, Director, Advisor Services

Vince’s connection to Daybreak Dayton reminded us just how important it is to support our community’s most vulnerable. Daybreak provides shelter, life-skills training, counseling, and job opportunities for homeless and at-risk youth. Their work doesn’t just change lives—it gives young people hope and a path to independence.

A Shared Commitment

These donations represent more than financial support—they reflect our team’s deep connection to Dayton and our belief in the power of community. By listening to our employees and supporting the causes closest to their hearts, we’re not just writing checks; we’re investing in real, meaningful change.

At Beacon, we’re more than a company. We’re part of the community, and we’re proud to work alongside organizations making a real difference—one cause, one life, one step at a time. We’d love to hear about the change you seek you create, contact us today!
