MONTHLY MARKET REVIEW (THROUGH 4-29-22)

April saw rising COVID cases in China prompt the shutdown of some of its biggest cities, causing global supply-chain issues. The ongoing war in Ukraine continues to exacerbate pressure on food and energy prices. While first-quarter earnings data was moderately favorable overall, several major companies reported disappointing results. And inflation continued to rise, leading to an almost certain 50-basis point interestrate increase from the Federal Reserve this week.

Benefits of Working with a Business Consultant
Just as financial advisors are equipped with the knowledge to help clients build a roadmap to achieve their financial goals, business consultants utilize their expertise to help advisors develop strategies to reach their business goals. Their objectivity helps ensure the approach taken aligns with an advisor’s vision, identifies strategic gaps, and provides solutions to those gaps. For example, suppose an advisor’s goal is to become the top advisor in their region but they want to avoid hiring and managing staff. In that case, they may need to redefine the vision or find a solution to being number one without the support of a team.

A business consultant can pinpoint such problem areas and offer a deeper knowledge of business trends, industry challenges, innovative ideas and new processes. Beacon is dedicated to helping advisors boost their performance and ensure industry longevity by focusing on four distinct areas:

Defining Business Goals
Before creating a plan, it is important to start with the end in mind. A business consultant can help you define your vision and goals. They can help you set realistic expectations of where you want to be in years to come and determine the tactics needed to get you there. Not only is it important to identify goals for your practice, but it is also necessary to determine your personal goals. If you are aiming to achieve a particular lifestyle, your business goals may need to be adjusted, or vice versa. Once your vision is defined and objectives are prioritized, an effective action plan can be created.

Building a High-Performing Team
If you are aiming to grow and expand your practice, it is important to avoid wearing too many hats. A business consultant can help you confirm what staff you may need to have in place to operate successfully and walk you through the steps needed to build a high-performing team. They can help outline a plan for effectively hiring, training, managing, and rewarding talent. Building the proper team is critical to the overall success of your practice.

Improving Client Experience
Many individuals value client experience over the product itself; this makes it important to develop and maintain a well thought out operations process. Business consultants can analyze your current workflow and evaluate how you stand out amongst industry competitors. They’ll help you implement new technology, optimize your CRM system and develop tools to help enhance the client experience. Not only can this help maintain current business and keep you connected to clients, but it can help generate referrals and promote growth.

Implementing an Effective Marketing Plan
Based on your capacity and interests, a business consultant can determine an appropriate route for your marketing strategy. Whether it is building relationships with centers of influence or hosting regular seminars for prospects, an effective marketing plan can help generate revenue and get you in front of more prospects.

The team at Beacon Capital Management is here to help you work on your business, not just in it.
